TASK
Put screen-based interactions into a physical context. Choose a period of design history and create three touchpoints that are connected and are meaningful ways of interacting with the exhibit.
DIGITAL DREAMS
Our group chose to design a museum based on Vaporwave, the art and music period based on remixed 80’s funk music and 90’s colors, tech visuals, and ancient Greek statues. This period started in the 2010’s, and due to the digital nature of the project we had a goal in mind when designing this exhibit: to transport the patrons to a digital location that they could never visit in real life.
Our exhibit
We wanted our exhibit to capture nostalgia for 90’s, while also allowing people to go into the digital world of Vaporwave. These two goals determined what touchpoints we would create and the visual design of the museum.
One tool, many functions
Our team used the online tool Miro for much of the remote-collaborative work that this project required. We used it to show off sketches and ideas to each other, but the deepest use for our Miro was creating the floorplan of our museum.
